Research Training Through Research

The curriculum is designed to help students discover mathematics within the context of contemporary scientific challenges, building on a solid and in-depth foundation in research training through research.

The department’s manageable size allows for close, individualized attention to students, and curricula are developed in consultation with the department’s faculty members.

A department affiliated with the Centre Borelli laboratory

The Department of Mathematics is firmly supported by the Centre Borelli laboratory at ENS Paris-Saclay , which includes numerous researchers, postdocs, and doctoral students involved in our Master 2 research programs.

The Borelli Center is responsible for the academic administration of the Master 2 in Mathematics, Vision, and Learning (MVA) which enrolls nearly 200 students each year.

Our Equipment

Reference Resources

Lumen offers a wide range of books for borrowing and on-site use. As a mathematics student at ENS Paris-Saclay, you automatically have access to LUMEN’s resources. Your student ID serves as your library card.

You can also access online library resources for free.

Computer facilities

Two recently upgraded computer labs are available for lab sessions and self-service use.
These labs offer Internet access for laptops, either via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

This constantly evolving infrastructure is based on open-source software developed in the academic world (Linux, OpenOffice, LaTeX, Scilab, Python, etc.).

Partnerships

These partnerships make it possible to offer courses across all areas of mathematics, allowing students to explore a broad spectrum of the subject—from the most applied to the most fundamental.

  1. Partnership with Université Paris-Saclay in the first year of study (L3)
  2. Partnership with École Polytechnique and Paris-Saclay University in the second year (Master 1 Hadamard at ENS)
