His Career

What is your educational background?

After two years of preparatory classes at Lycée Champollion in Grenoble, I enrolled in the mathematics department at ENS Paris-Saclay in 2017.
I followed the research track, completing internships in various areas related to modeling for the environmental sciences, in the broadest sense of the term: modeling electric batteries at CEA Grenoble, and the relationship between temperature and mortality at INSERM. During my pre-doctoral research year, I worked on the impact of climate change on the water cycle at the University of Bristol. That year reinforced my desire to continue my studies in research, at the intersection of mathematical modeling and environmental applications.

However, I wasn’t sure I wanted to pursue academic research. So I chose a collaborative Ph.D. project between the CEA (French Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission) and the Paris-Saclay Mechanics Laboratory (LMPS, a joint laboratory of Centrale Supélec and ENS Paris-Saclay). I’m delighted to be part of an academic environment at LMPS and a more operational one at the CEA, which provide me with varied and complementary perspectives on my research.

What are your career prospects for the future?

I love the research I’m conducting for my dissertation, so I’d like to continue in academic research. For now, I’m looking for a postdoctoral position abroad to experience a different environment from France and broaden my research topics. I plan to return to hydrology, applying the artificial intelligence tools I developed during my dissertation. But since I’m always very curious, I might just fall in love with a completely different research topic!
